“We are thrilled to celebrate literacy with many business and community leaders in the county at this inspiring event. There is a great literacy need with adults and children in our community, and support from all who attend goes a long way to helping the Literacy Coalition provide and support life-changing literacy programs.”

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS

33rd Love of Literacy Luncheon

Thank you to our supporters and volunteers who joined us on April 11, 2024, at the Literacy Coalition’s 33rd Love of Literacy Luncheon, presented by Bank of America, featuring New York Times bestselling and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks. It was an inspiring and exciting day in celebration of literacy.

Known for her impeccably researched historical novels, Australian-born author Geraldine Brooks won the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006 for her novel March. Her novels People of the Book, Caleb’s Crossing and The Secret Chord all were New York Times bestsellers. Her first novel, Year of Wonders, is an international bestseller, translated into more than 25 languages and currently optioned for a limited series by acclaimed actress Olivia Coleman’s production company. Prior to writing novels, Brooks was a journalist at The Sydney Morning Herald and The Wall Street Journal. Brooks’ latest critically acclaimed novel is Horse and is based on the remarkable true story of the record-breaking thoroughbred, Lexington, who became America’s greatest stud sire.
